Eagle Mount Bozeman, an organization committed to providing quality therapeutic recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and young people with cancer, has announced the selection of Jennifer Beaston Hedrick as its new executive director. Hedrick will succeed Mary Peterson, who is retiring in September. The decision was made following an extensive national search and interview process with a number of highly qualified candidates. The Board’s action comes with the fullest confidence that Hedrick will continue to be an excellent steward of Eagle Mount’s mission and a leader and advocate for its participants and families.
“We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” reported Cheryl Christman, Eagle Mount Board President. “Jennifer has a genuine enthusiasm for Eagle Mount’s programs and a deep sense of commitment to our mission. She has served international nonprofits at program, fundraising, and executive leadership levels, and has an impressive breadth of perspective and experience. We believe that Jennifer has the capacity, tenacity and experience to guide Eagle Mount into the future.”
Hedrick graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in finance and international business from the University of Colorado and later received an International MBA at Thunderbird School of Global Management. She has more than 20 years’ experience in executive leadership, finance, operations and fundraising. After beginning her career in finance as the Credit and Risk Manager for Citigroup in Warsaw, Poland and Director of Strategy and Operations for Digital Partners in Seattle, Washington, Hedrick made the switch to the non-profit sector serving as COO of Tostan in Dakar, Senegal and then as Country Director for the Peace Corps in Rwanda where she received the Award of Commendation for leadership during a crisis. She continues to serve on the Tostan Board of Directors. Hedrick relocated to Bozeman with her family last year.
“It is a privilege to be selected as the next Executive Director of Eagle Mount,” says Hedrick, “Eagle Mount is such an important part of our community and has become an even more remarkable organization under Mary Peterson’s leadership. I’m grateful that the Board and staff have placed their faith in me to join the Eagle Mount family as we continue to offer exceptional adventures to the wonderful people we serve.”
