Flight Camp with Summit Aviation

Do you long to take to the skies? Flight Camp is designed for young adult cancer survivors ages 18-26 years old with dreams of flying. In partnership with Summit Aviation, Big Sky Kids provides four campers the opportunity to learn how to fly a plane and see the beauty of Montana from an entirely new perspective. Campers get hands-on during this 5 day adventure! Each morning starts with participants and their certified flight instructors conducting a pre-flight inspection on Summit’s aircraft before taking to the skies! All flight lessons take place above some of the best views Montana has to offer, as campers learn basic aircraft control and how to perform basic maneuvers; by the end of the week many are even performing their own take-offs and landings! Campers return from their morning flights to delicious themed lunches, afternoons tours of Bozeman International Airport facilities (including emergency response operations, the air traffic control tower, and private jets) and a ground lesson where instructors go over flight controls and aerodynamics, helpful tips for landing smoothly, and how to plan a cross-country flight. The week culminates in a graduation flight to Driggs, ID, during which campers get a bird’s eye view of the majestic Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons!

Music

Our Eagle Mount Music program is a brand-new initiative designed to bring the joy of music to our community. Our program provides a fun and inclusive environment where individuals of all abilities can learn, practice, and perform music together.

We are excited to offer a two-month Christmas caroling program where our participants learn classic holiday tunes and perform them at various locations throughout the community. These performances are a wonderful way to spread cheer and bring joy to others during the holiday season. In addition to our holiday program, we also offer monthly jam sessions on the second Wednesday of every month where participants can come together and collaborate on new arrangements for voices and/or instruments. Our experienced instructors guide our participants through the process of creating and learning music, providing support and encouragement along the way.

We believe that music has the power to bring people together and to enrich our lives in countless ways. We are thrilled to be able to offer this new program to our community, and we look forward to seeing the amazing things that our participants will create through the power of music.

Theater

Welcome to the Eagle Mount Theater Program, where we offer two exciting opportunities for individuals of all abilities to explore the world of theater. Our Summer Players session is a chance for participants to rehearse and perform a brand-new original play written specifically for them. Over the course of the summer, our participants work to develop their acting skills, learn their lines, and create a memorable performance. At the end of the program, there are three performance days where the community and friends can come and watch their talent shine!

In addition to our Summer Players session, we also offer a Fall Theater Workshop that runs for five weeks. This program is designed to hone improv and acting skills, as well as to play fun theater games and challenges. Participants develop their confidence and creativity and learn new skills that they can apply both on and off the stage. This program is a great way for participants to continue their theater journey after the summer and to further develop their skills as performers and artists.

At Eagle Mount, we believe that theater has the power to transform lives and to bring people together. We are proud to offer these programs to our community, and to provide individuals of all abilities with the chance to express themselves creatively and to explore the magic of the performing arts.

Adventure Days

Adventure Days is all about having fun with friends and building skills for a variety of summer activities for our Eagle Mount participants. Each day, we meet at 9am and get back by 3:30pm. We travel to different locations to explore and make memories together. The program culminates in an overnight trip for each age group. Adventures include: group games, canoeing and kayaking, hiking, ziplining, rafting, soaking in the hot springs, and more!

For our school-aged groups, Adventure Days will be a day camp style program with 4 consecutive days of various adventures. Bridger Bounders and Eagle Explorers will have two sessions available to them throughout the summer. We will have an early season general camp and a later season water camp. Please choose if one session works better for you than the other, as we may have to even out numbers for each session.

For children from approximate ages 5-10, we are partnering with Bozeman Parks and Recreation for an inclusive camp! These ‘Explore!’ camps run from M-F from 7:30am-5:30pm with different themes each week. Sign-ups for these camps have already occurred through Bozeman Parks and Recreation. They will have two sessions available each week. One for 5-7 year olds and one for 8-10 year olds! If you wanted to sign up for this and were not able to, please give us a call at (406) 586-1781 or email recreation@eaglemount.org, and we will do our best to get something worked out for you with Bozeman Parks and Rec!

The Gallatin Galavanters (age 18+) will have a weekly Adventure Day all summer long. Galavanters can choose a Monday or Friday schedule.

All groups will have the option to sign up for an overnight camp out at the end of the summer! Transportation, equipment, and meals are provided for the overnights.

Sign-ups for Adventure Days are below for Eagle Mount participants. Payment will be required to secure a spot with Adventure Days and will be sent out to participants who sign up in the next couple of weeks! The cost will be $200 a week for our day camps, $40/day for our Galavanters, & $100 for our overnight campouts. As always, we do not want the cost of programming to be a barrier. Need-based scholarship forms can be acquired by emailing mlowry@eaglemount.org. Please note that completion of the sign-up form does not guarantee a spot with Adventure Days. Availability is limited for each group, so you may be added to a waitlist if necessary. Once participants have been identified from submissions, we will reach out to you to confirm session(s) and payment. Payment will be required prior to Adventure Days and will be needed to secure participant’s spots for sessions. We do not want cost to be a barrier to participation, so please reach out to Maggie at mlowry@eaglemount.org for questions regarding scholarships.

Cycling

Savor the outdoors and get your blood pumping in a variety of locations throughout the Gallatin Valley on our weekly road rides. You may also wish to join us for occasional long Saturday rides where we explore new areas. This program requires a level of fitness that will support your safety and comfort on rides ranging from 12-15 miles. This program provides fun, adventure, and time to connect with other cycling enthusiasts.

In addition, we own a variety of adaptive cycles that we rent to members of the public. Please contact us if you are interested in renting an adaptive cycle.

Email recreation@eaglemount.org for more information.

Aquatics

Eagle Mount’s Aquatics Program offers year round adaptive swim and exercise opportunities to individuals with a wide range of abilities.  With the support of trained and dedicated staff and caring volunteers, people with disabilities enjoy the therapeutic benefits unique to our warm saltwater pool. From learning to swim to regaining strength and balance, our aquatic programs offer all participants the opportunity to engage with other participants, stay active and reach personal fitness goals.

Participant Information:

Adult and Young At Heart (YAH) Swim is for individuals over the age of 50 who also meet Eagle Mount’s Eligibility Guidelines. Our adult and Young at Heart classes offer water experiences designed to improve strength, balance, endurance, and overall health improvement.

Independent Exercise is a 45 minute block of time set aside for individuals who want to work at their own pace independently.

Young Adult Water Exercise Classes are for participants aged 18-30 who are looking for the opportunity to either swim laps together, or do water exercise once a week. In these classes we not only work on physical exercise, but also social communication. These classes are led by an instructor and are limited to 6 participants.

Family Swim provides an opportunity for families to enjoy the use of the entire pool for a 45 minute block of time. It is offered Monday through Saturday. Space is limited and must be scheduled in advance. There will be no instructor, but a lifeguard will be on duty.

Cancer Support Community water aerobics classes are held on Monday and Friday at 2:00 pm. Participants must register through the Cancer Support Community.

Volunteer Information:

Building relationships with children and adults in the Eagle Mount pool is a satisfying way to give back and help others achieve their goals. Volunteers are also needed for cleaning, administrative support, and special initiatives.

For questions regarding participating or volunteering, please email aquatics@eaglemount.org

Family Swim Registration

We offer Family Swim Mon. & Wed. at 6pm, Tues. &Thurs. at 5pm, and Fridays at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. It costs $10 per swim, no matter how many members in your family attend. We cap the number of swimmers in the pool at 20 people. At least one attending member of your family must be eligible for Eagle Mount services.
