The horticulture program brings participants from the community to garden at Eagle Mount. A greenhouse and grow lights allow participants to seed in early spring. Transplanting is always a time of excitement as vegetables and flowers are placed in the gardens. Raised beds allow participants in wheelchairs access to work the soil.
Pick Your Group
Working in the garden lets the group get out and enjoy the outdoors as they work with hand tools improving their manual dexterity. During the summer, participants and volunteers tend the gardens and enjoy field trips. As the harvest season comes, the participants enjoy eating the produce they have grown, therapeutic in its own right.
