Horticulture

The horticulture program brings participants from the community to garden at Eagle Mount. A greenhouse and grow lights allow participants to seed in early spring. Transplanting is always a time of excitement as vegetables and flowers are placed in the gardens and greenhouse. Raised beds allow participants in wheelchairs access to work the soil.

Working in the garden lets the group get out and enjoy the outdoors as they work the soil and care for the plants. During the summer, participants and volunteers tend the gardens and enjoy field trips and speakers. As the harvest season comes, participants and volunteers enjoy cooking and eating the produce they have grown.
