Big Sky Kids
Our Young Adult Retreat (YAR) is designed for young adults ages 16-23 who have reached remission. For a full week, campers are immersed in adventurous outdoor activities, the camaraderie of a small group, and opportunities to develop unique and powerful leadership skills. YAR is a traveling camp with an itinerary that changes from year to year so that returning campers are given the chance to see multiple aspects of Montana’s beauty. YAR 2016 will be a “mystery year” with an itinerary only known by the Big Sky Kids staff. The retreat is medically supervised by a volunteer nurse, and the only cost for our YAR campers is transportation to and from Bozeman.
Our Big Sky Kids program is designed for children and young adults with cancer. Begun in 1985, Big Sky Kids provides four different summer camps for children with cancer ages 5-23 each year, as well as a family ski weekend every spring. Our oncology camps are centered around exciting Montana adventures such as white-water rafting, horseback riding, kayaking, fishing, zip-lining, and touring the wonders of Yellowstone National Park. Each Big Sky Kids camp is medically supervised, allowing both children and young adults the opportunity to escape the confines of treatment schedules and hospital walls and experience all the thrills that our state has to offer!
